BOOKING APPOINTMENTS
The Monashee Medical Clinic is not a walk-in clinic, and appointments are booked in advance. Our health care providers offer in-person, telephone and virtual appointments. We encourage you to see your own primary care provider whenever possible, however if they are not available, your care needs may be covered by another primary care provider at the clinic.
ONLINE BOOKING
Online booking appointments can be done via the Patient Portal, which you can find here. Information on online booking can be found here.
MISSED APPOINTMENT FEES
Our clinic needs at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows access for other patients who are waiting for care. Fees for missed appointments will be updated on our website. These are set based on the Doctors of BC Guidelines for Uninsured Services. The current fee for a missed appointment is $50. If missed appointments occur routinely, a patient may face dismissal from our clinic.
CHAPERONES & SUPPORT
You are welcome to bring a support person to your appointment. If you would like a chaperone to be present at an appointment, please ask the staff and we will be happy to assist you.
UPDATING HEALTH SERVICES WITH THE NAME OF YOUR PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER & PERSONAL INFORMATION
Patients are responsible to keep any labs, pharmacies, hospitals and specialist offices that you attend updated on your Primary Care Provider. It is also your responsibility to keep our clinic updated with your personal information including name, address, phone number and email address.
PRESCRIPTION REFILL
Long term medication use requires close medical supervision. Prescription renewals require an appointment with your primary care provider and will not be routinely filled by phone or fax.
TEST RESULTS
Results are not given over the telephone. If your results require immediate attention, you will be contacted by your primary care provider. All other results will be reviewed at your next appointment. Alternatively, you can access your results on My Health Portal or Health Gateway. Information on accessing these platforms is available from our front staff, or can be found on our website here. Please note that there is a $20 fee/result for requests to have the clinic print out results which you can access through My Health Portal or Health Gateway.
MEDICAL EDUCATION
We are a medical teaching site which means there will occasionally be residents and students at our clinic. While we encourage you to allow these professionals to assist in your care, please talk with your primary care provider or our staff if you have questions or concerns.
UNINSURED SERVICE FEES
Certain services are not covered by Health Insurance BC. Accordingly, there will be a private charge to you for these services. These fees are set by the Doctors of BC Guidelines for Uninsured Services. Payment for these services will be required in full at the time the service is provided. A detailed fee schedule can be found on this page. The most common uninsured services are:
- Driver’s Medical Exams
- Employer sick notes
- Employer forms
- Camp/Sport physicals and forms
- Insurance Forms
- Disability Forms
- Tax Forms
- SPARC Forms
- Legal Forms
- Transfer of Records
